The home of the original Sachertorte (1832) — Franz Sacher invented the recipe at 16 for Prince Metternich. Behind the Staatsoper, you sit among Habsburg portraits. The two Sachertortes — Sacher's vs Demel's — have been at war for nearly 200 years.
