Perast & Gospa od Škrpjela(Perast)

The most popular day trip from Kotor — a baroque little town with 17 palazzos lined up along the waterfront and a man-made islet built over 500 years by local fishermen. Hop a small boat out to the shrine, where the interior is covered in 17th-century frescoes.

Budva & Sveti Stefan(Budva)

A 30-minute drive down to the Montenegrin Riviera — Budva's Old Town (smaller but every bit as old-world as Kotor), then on to Sveti Stefan, the most photographed island-hotel on the Mediterranean.

• 💡Sveti Stefan is hotel-guests-only — you can't walk onto the islet, but you can take it in from the road.
